Perparing for Independence Day

The time is now near at hand which must probably determine, whether Americans are to be freemen or slaves; whether they are to have any property they can call their own; whether their Houses, and Farms, are to be pillaged and destroyed, and they consigned to a State of Wretchedness from which no human efforts will probably deliver them. The fate of unborn Millions will now depend, under God, on the courage and conduct of this army. Our cruel and unrelenting enemy leaves us no choice but a brave resistance, or the most abject submission; this is all we can expect. We have therefore to resolve to conquer or die. Our own Country's Honor all call upon us for a vigorous and manly exertion, and if we now shamefully fail, we shall become infamous to the whole world. Let us therefore rely upon the goodness of the Cause, and the aid of the supreme Being, in whose hands Victory is, to animate and encourage us to great and noble Actions. The Eyes of all our Countrymen are now upon us, and we shall have their blessings, and praises, if happily we are the instruments of saving them from the Tyranny meditated against them. Let us therefore animate and encourage each other, and show the whole world, that a free man contending for liberty on his own ground is superior to any slavish mercenary on earth. - General George Washington, July 2, 1776, General Orders to his Officers explaining the war effort.
With all that our current administration is doing, this seems as fitting today as it did in 1776!

The change we need!

You have heard it this election season: Change! What change do we need? We need a new direction for our country! Obama has promised this change. McCain has promised this change. Well, at least to not be George W. Bush. What ever happened to a government of the people, for the people, by the people?

In a time when we have lost more personal liberty then at any point in our histoy, America needs a change. We need to regain the power from our elected officials and give it back to the people of this great and honorable country! Where is the power kept? How is the power kept? How do we, the people, get the power back?

The power is currently in Washington, D.C. It is held by those that we elect to speak in our stead. Mind you, we are a republic, and not a democracy. And there are those that would heap despotism upon us through more and more complicated bureaucracy. Our elected officials keep the power we give them through our tax dollars. We are taxed on our income. Where would we be today if the greatest advances in the previous 2 centuries were taxed? Would we enjoy movies, lightbulbs, electricity? Thomas Edison was free of an income tax to focus on productivity. Not what was a great tax incentive to make his invetion business pay less taxes!

Would you like to see the greatest transfer of power back to the people since the Revolutionary War? Since the creation of the U.S. Constitution? I give you the Fair Tax! What could you do if you got to keep all of your paycheck every month? No Social Security, Medicare, or Federal Withholding taxes (upwards of 26%+) to throw at the elected officials. Now on the Social Security and Medicare part, your employer has to match that. Here's the secret: that's money your employers pays you, but diverts to the "matching amount" they are required to pay the Feds!! That could be an extra 11% back to you! When was the last time you got a 37% pay rise?

Here's the great part! You decide how much you are taxed and how often. The Fair Tax is a consumption based tax; a national sales tax. The only time you are taxed is when you spend your money! So not only do we decide if we want to be taxed, but how much we are taxed. Would you shop around for a better price if you could find it less expensivly at another store where your tax burden would be smaller since the price is less? Would you look for a great health insurance plan that is less expensive and provides great coverage? Wouldn't you want to become a better informed consumer so that you would pay less in taxes and cost of living?

There would be a side effect of this, though. You may actually have more money than month! Wow! Think of that, you have savings in your savings account. You didn't have to skimp or scrape by to save the money. You didn't have to go without because you had 37% more money and a better idea of where to get the best product for what you spent.

This is just the personal benefits of a Fair Tax. Check out the benefits to this at the Fair Tax website. I find it very compelling and I look at this as the change we all need!

An Introduction - My Purpose

Welcome to the The Next American Revolution. My name is Michael Randall. Let me start by introducing myself up front so that you don't get hit by any punches later on.

I am conservative. I make no bones about this. I have a fervent love of this country and the abilities of her people. I want what most Americans want: The American Dream! I am not only an employee, but also a small business owner; as our forefathers were. I want to see a revitalization in the love of this country. For too long, now, have the few and vocal minority put down the efforts of this great republic! It must stop, if we are to truly defeat our enemies. Unfortunately, some of these enemies are from within, and are a greater threat to our sovereignty than those that are without our boarders.

With that said, this blog is about what I think and will be in response to events that focus on America. These events will be both national and global in scope. You will read quotes from our forefathers about these events as well as from contemporary conservative commentators. This is not going to be a conservative or Republican "love-fest." If I disagree with what is happening within the Republican Party or with conservatives, I will call them on it. I would expect the same if my actions were not in line with my principles.

Thanks for stopping by and I welcome your constructive comments! Note: flamers will be shot first and questions asked second!
